The Philly Founder of This Healthy Meal Startup Will Appear on ‘Shark Tank’s’ Season 12 Premiere

“Shark Tank” fans, rejoice: We’ve got a Philly-based founder gracing your screens this Friday night at 8 p.m. during the show’s season 12 premiere.

Chef Jared Cannon, founder of four-year-old healthy meal startup Simply Good Jars, will be vying for investments from sharks Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec and Daymond John.

Cannon launched a line of jarred, ready-to-go salads stored in connected smart fridges at the end of 2017, and was chosen for New York-based Food-X, an accelerator program for food-related startups, in 2019. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Cannon suspended typical operations. He instead focused on feeding Philadelphians through a delivery program to their homes (though it’s not clear from the company’s website if that program is still live) and partnered up with goPuff to expand its reach.
