Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team. The Senior Accounting Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • In close coordination with the Controller, own the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, revenue recognition, payroll submission, and third party advisor oversight (in addition to other accounting responsibilities as assigned).
  • Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with the Controller and department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated models for financial analysis. Provide analytical support to the organization’s Chief Financial Officer to inform strategic decision-making.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Support management of financial statements and other audits. Assist with the Finance department’s coordination with external auditors.

 

Systems and Process Improvement:

  • Work with the Controller to implement technology solutions, including a new accounting system.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement improvements.
  • Build and socialize innovative financial models to enhance analytical rigor within the Finance department using industry best practices and advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Four to seven years of combined experience in accounting, financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and best practices, regulations, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionalities and capabilities.
  • Proficiency in modern accounting software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
