Philadelphia Startup ‘Pushed to Capacity’ by Demand as Coronavirus Impacts Mental Health

As millions of people abide by stay-at-home orders to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, another health crisis looms — mental health.

More than 40 million adults in the U.S. already suffered from anxiety and depression before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and experts are concerned the increase in fear of the unknown, social isolation, financial issues and other stressors could compound already serious conditions.

The need to stay connected with patients dealing with mental health issues has spurred increased demand for Center City startup NeuroFlow’s product, an app that helps providers monitor their patients’ moods and emotions and track their progress.

“Our technology’s pretty well-posed to be a valuable resource in this time. Effectively, we’re enabling more remote monitoring and engagement for people,” said NeuroFlow CEO Chris Molaro.
