Focus on Programming for Energy Efficiency Building Technology Sector
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Innovation has found its place – and once again, it’s in Philadelphia. The University City Science Center is expanding its successful Quorum program to The Navy Yard in Philadelphia in partnership with the Energy Efficient Buildings Hub (EEB Hub). Satellite Quorum by EEB Hub at The Navy Yard pilot programming will begin on October 3, 2012.

The station, which will be owned and operated by California-based Clean Energy, is the result of years of lobbying by county transportation agencies and others who wanted a cheaper, cleaner alternative to gasoline.

The Energy Department released a new report today highlighting strong growth in the U.S. wind energy market in 2011, increasing the United States’ share of clean energy and supporting tens of thousands of jobs, and underscoring the importance of continued policy support and clean energy tax credits to ensure that the manufacturing and jobs associated with this booming global industry remain in America.

The Energy Department today released a new report showing significant growth for the fuel cell industry in 2011 and forecasting continued growth through 2012. The 2011 Fuel Cell Technologies Market Report finds that commercial markets for fuel cell technologies expanded significantly over the last year, especially in the materials handling industry. At the end of 2011, more than 3,000 fuel cell forklifts were either deployed or on order in the United States.
