Power Valley Partners is a Ben Franklin-managed coalition of interests united to leverage and develop the region’s extensive energy assets.

Over the past year, the Power Valley Partners has supported the development and submission of more than $650 million in federal proposals to build the region, and secured approximately $362 million thus far.

The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command research facility (NAVSEA), Ben Franklin, DVIRC, Penn State University and other area universities and corporations are developing The Navy Yard Clean Energy Campus. The Campus focuses on the research, education and commercialization of energy-sector technologies.

The Building 100 Innovation Center at The Navy Yard Clean Energy Campus was created by Ben Franklin, DVIRC and PIDC to be a catalyst for the regional energy hub. It is also home to Penn State’s Distributed Power Management at The Navy Yard program, funded by Pennsylvania’s Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority, and Energy Application and Training Centers, funded by the U.S DOE.

In Bucks County, Ben Franklin partnered with the Bridge Business Center, Keystone Redevelopment Group, Bucks County Community College, Delaware Valley College, Drexel University, DVIRC and industrial partners to create a node of company incubation and workforce development. The Center focuses on bio-energy development and advanced alternative energy related manufacturing.

Ben Franklin is a member of numerous committees and teams designed to “Power Up The Region,” including the City of Philadelphia’s Sustainability Advisory Board and Solar City Partnership. Ben Franklin supports Select Greater Philadelphia’s efforts to market our region as fertile ground for alternative energy and clean technology companies to launch, relocate and expand.
