Seeded with $10 million from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Alternative Energy Development Program (AEDP), Ben Franklin is Powering Up the Region with investments and partnerships to create new enterprises, new products and new economic growth.

Home to energy-sector entrepreneurs, multinational corporations, investment capital resources and leading researchers, Greater Philadelphia is the nexus of the Mid-Atlantic energy hub—Power Valley.

Together with partners across the region, Ben Franklin is fostering the formation of a Greater Philadelphia energy cluster…Power Valley. Over the past year, the Power Valley Partners has supported the development and submission of more than $650 million in federal proposals to build the region, and secured approximately $362 million thus far.

This year the region celebrated the award of nearly $130 million in federal funds to create the Greater Philadelphia Innovation Cluster (GPIC) for Energy Efficient Buildings at The Navy Yard.  Ben Franklin is proud to be the commercialization partner for GPIC.
