Emerald Stage2 Ventures Leads Investments into
Core Solutions and Maverick Network Solutions

Emerald Stage2 Ventures is a Pennsylvania-based early stage venture fund focused primarily in the technology-enabled services area. Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania lead the formation of Emerald Stage2, and partnered with Emerald Asset Management and Internet Capital Group to organize this new early stage fund.

Emerald Stage2 Ventures recently announced investments in two companies, Core Solutions and Maverick Network Solutions. Core Solutions, a Ben Franklin Technology Partners (BFTP) portfolio company, is a national leader in providing enterprise software solutions to the health and human services industries. Their software securely automates the collection, distribution, processing, reporting and analysis of administrative, financial and clinical client data for internal staff and external stakeholders. BFTP approved an investment of $250,000 in the Wayne, PA company in 2007.

Emerald Stage2 led a $1.5 million investment round into Maverick Network Solutions to help the company expand its sales force. The company is a leading-provider of customized prepaid programs for corporations looking for efficient and cost effective ways to deliver payments and connect with their customers. Among other programs, Maverick helps retailers reduce high credit card fees with private label debit card programs whose cost-savings potential is helping win business in these challenging economic times.
