NEW MEMBER ELECTED TO BEN FRANKLIN TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS' BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Philadelphia, PA - November 5, 2003 - Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP) today announced that Osagie Imasogie, Vice President & Director, Genetics & Discovery Ventures, GlaxoSmithKline R&D, has been elected to its Board of Directors. “Mr. Osagie brings to the Board more than two decades of professional experience in areas including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, corporate finance and law, as well as intellectual property and international business,” noted RoseAnn B. Rosenthal, President and CEO, BFTP/SEP."
As vice president and director of GlaxoSmithKline’s Genetics & Discovery Ventures group, Mr. Imasogie is responsible for the external value maximization of various GlaxoSmithKline R&D assets, such as compounds, technology platforms, databases/libraries and patents.
Most recently, Mr. Imasogie served as vice president & director, Product Development Strategy, SmithKline Beecham R&D and senior vice president of Business Development, general counsel & secretary, Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Imasogie received his LL.B.(Honors) from the University of Ife (Ile-Ife, Nigeria), B.L. (Honors) from the Nigeria Law School (Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria), LL.M. from the London School of Economics, University of London, and LLM from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law (Philadelphia, PA).
