Ben Franklin Invested in 61% of Seed/Early Stage Companies Receiving VC Funding in Greater Philadelphia During Q4 2011

PHILADELPHIA, PA (www.sep.benfranklin.org) – Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP) invested in 61% of all seed/early stage companies that received venture funding in the Greater Philadelphia five-county region, during Q4 2011, as reported by PwC MoneyTree.

The Report also indicates that Ben Franklin accounted for 42% of all deals reported for the region.

Over the past five years, Ben Franklin committed more than $30M to more than 200 regional enterprises across all areas of technology development. Among these companies are AboutOne, AnySource Media, BioNano Genomics, Clear Align, ListenLogic, Moda Technology Partners, Monetate, Neat Company, NuPathe, OxiCool, QR Pharma, Snipi, TicketLeap, Topaz Pharmaceuticals and Viridity Energy.

“This report, again, underscores the importance of the Commonwealth’s support for seeding the enterprises that will be future job generators,” said RoseAnn B.
