Lockheed Martin Unveils Expanded Newtown, Pennsylvania Facility

Lockheed Martin (News - Alert) opened the doors to new facilities at its Space Systems Company operations in Newtown, Pennsylvania.

The Newtown facility is part of LMSSC, an operating unit of Lockheed Martin Corp. LMSSC designs, develops, tests, manufactures and operates a full spectrum of advanced-technology systems for national security and military, civil government and commercial customers. Chief products include human space flight systems; remote sensing, navigation, meteorological and communications satellites and instruments; space observatories and interplanetary spacecraft; laser radar; ballistic missiles; missile defense systems; and nanotechnology research and development. …

White House Seeks Input on National Nanotech Plan

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has issued a request for information (RFI) to gain input from stakeholders in developing the National Nanotechnology Initiative's (NNI) 2010 strategic plan. The 2010 plan will continue to build toward the overarching goals outlined in the original 2007 strategic plan. Responses must be electronically submitted by August 15. NNI's 2010 strategic plan will be published in December. OSTP also will stage online public comment events to gain specific input on the strategic plan.
